Museum Gouda warmly welcomes everyone to the Gouda by Candlelight event on December 12, 2025. The museum will be open free of charge from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on this day. Come and enjoy the beautiful exhibitions Jo Koster, artist or Unheard of*, chat with Santa Claus, listen to fantastic music, and take the opportunity to admire the permanent collection.
Today, you will follow a one-way route through the museum: start at the Oosthaven 9 entrance and enjoy the 16th-century religious art in the chapel. Upon arrival at Het Ruim, choose one of the two exhibitions: 'Jo Koster, artist' or 'Unheard'. You will then pass by the permanent collection, and throughout the day and evening, you will be surprised by musical performances in various rooms, including Anne-Roos Broekhuizen, Emma Huijzer, Tjomme and Nano, Ali Esrail, Somerhûs, and Johan Draait. There is also a regular 'story in the room' at the city model and Spoken Word at the exhibition Unheard by Asmae Amaddaou.
At the end of the route, you will arrive at the museum garden, Achter de Kerk 14, where you can enjoy music and refreshments at the Museum Café throughout the afternoon and evening.
