The organizers of Gouds Montmartre and the Gouda Cheese Market have decided to cancel the events scheduled for Wednesday, June 24, and Thursday, June 25, respectively. This decision was made due to the high temperatures expected on both days and the associated health risks. The farmers’ market, which also takes place on Thursday, will go ahead as planned (8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.).

By canceling the event, the organizers aim to prevent health risks to visitors, participants, volunteers, and staff. The safety and well-being of everyone involved are the top priority.

The organizations regret the disappointment this decision may cause, but believe that, given the current weather forecast, cancellation is the most responsible choice.

For (foreign) tourists visiting Gouda this week specifically for both events, the cancellation may come as a disappointment. At the same time, the city center offers plenty of alternatives for enjoying a pleasant stay in Gouda.

The organizations hope to welcome everyone back next week.
