What happens when plants, trees, water, stones, and
natural processes are not only the subject of art but also influence the
creation of the work? Majke Lüthi, Sanne van Gent, Miranda van Dijk, and Henri Blommers explore this question in the exhibition *Révolte Naturelle*, on view from October 1 through 25 at De Firma.
The four artists work across different disciplines and approach nature as
a dialogue partner. Through photography, installations, drawings, paper-cutting art, audio, and poetry
, they explore the interaction between humans and nature.
For example, photographerHenri Blommersexperimentswithbotanical and chemical processes in his
analog photography. In *Voorgoed Geworteld* (Rooted Forever),Majke Lüthi exploresthe relationship between trees and
people and presents the audio story *Opgebomen*. Miranda van Dijk explores the
symbolism of plants and their significance for women. In her *Mariaplanten Herbarium*
, she displays unlabeled paper plants, allowing visitors to view them with a fresh perspective. In her collages and installations,Sanne van Gent bringstogether natural forms and found human objects, creating new, imaginary landscapes.
Supporting Program
The exhibition is accompanied by a supporting program that includes cyanotype workshops and
a haiku-tree walk. There is also a listening table, and the artists will be present during most
weekends to engage in conversation with visitors.
