Warm delight for a Zot
Warm up in a former guesthouse (Museum Gouda) and join the free guided tours of the Museum Zotten on Saturday, October 26 (between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM).
In the Middle Ages, the Catharina Gasthuis served as a shelter for vagrants and travelers, among others. It was a pleasant place to stay, as the winters were bitterly cold. The Museum Zotten will share what life was like there on October 26.
You can sign up between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM in the museum garden (Achter de Kerk 14). As soon as a group of people who are “crazy enough” has gathered, a guided tour lasting about 15 minutes will begin. The route runs from the former Gasthuiszaal, where vagrants were taken in, through the Gasthuisapotheek and the Gasthuiskapel to the thrilling torture instruments cellar. And it doesn’t get any crazier than this: the Crazy Tours are completely free and suitable for all ages. Advance registration is not possible.
After the guided tour, you are welcome to explore the museum further. Please purchase a regular ticket at the museum entrance.
Museum Gouda hours: Tuesday through Sunday, 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
