On Sunday, June 14, GOUDasfalt will be all about doing, discovering, and shaping the future. During the fourth edition of Gouda Maakt Toekomst, this creative hub will once again transform into the place where you can meet future-makers and discover that you, too, are one.

From 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, GOUDasfalt will become a huge playground filled with workshops, a market, music, food, and street theater. Admission is free.

Sitting still isn’t an option. As a visitor, you’ll dive into a series of mini-adventures: from transforming a T-shirt or other piece of clothing you’ve brought along into an upcycled fashion statement, to kneading native seed bombs, making your own sourdough starter, foraging, magnet fishing, or making paint from plants. The festival is all about things you can literally experience firsthand.

On the grounds, you’ll also find stalls full of products with a story: from handmade jewelry to circular design and unique vintage finds.
If you get hungry, check out the local food vendors serving up surprising bites—from Caribbean vegan dishes to pure organic snacks.

The street theater is brimming with stories that tickle your brain and make you see the world through new eyes. Musical acts provide laid-back sounds. Dig through crates full of vinyl at the retro Platenbus or let yourself be surprised by everything from ’90s vibes to today’s hits with the cover band Lee‑Ann. And don’t miss the Cigarbox, which conjures up brilliant sounds from instruments made from old cigar boxes.

Gouda Maakt Toekomst is a festival for anyone looking forward to a day full of creativity, fun, and new ideas.
Feel free to come by bike or take the ferry from the Veerstal for just one euro.
