The theater season is finally back this month! After a quiet summer, the Goudse Schouwburg will once again be filled with theater, music, and applause starting in September. The new season kicks off with two festive events: the Night of Wonder on Saturday, September 20, and the World Food & Film Festival on Saturday, September 26, and Sunday, September 27.

Ticket sales have gotten off to a flying start; 75,000 tickets have already been sold for professional performances, which is half of the total supply. Still, there are plenty of options for those looking to plan a night out. It promises to be a diverse season with major productions such as the premiere of Sleeping Beauty on Saturday, October 4, and Sunday, October 5, and the hit musical Hairspray running from Wednesday, October 29, through Sunday, November 2. Prefer music? You can catch Tangerine on Tuesday, October 7, Sven Ratzke on Tuesday, December 16, and OGENE on Tuesday, January 27, or enjoy cabaret all year round with Dolf Jansen, Sara Kroos, Jochem Myjer, and Plien & Bianca. In addition, the program features cabaret, surprising new artists, and experimental theater.

A great new feature this year: children 12 and under can attend family performances in the Kleine Zaal for free. This initiative allows the Goudse Schouwburg to introduce young audiences to theater in an accessible way.

Now that summer vacation is over and the cultural season is kicking off, the Goudse Schouwburg is reopening its doors. Come on an adventure and catch your favorite artists right here in Gouda.
