Sunday, February 1, 2026, is the big day: "Gluren bij de Buren" will transform Gouda into one big, vibrant stage for a single day. The organizers are now looking for enthusiastic performers and hospitable living rooms to help make this special edition a reality. You can sign up via the website gbdb.nl/aanmelden.
The previous edition was a huge success. With 100 venues and 300 performances spread throughout the city, it made for a day full of memorable encounters. The festival even won the award for Best Gouda Initiative at the Gouda Pop Awards. This year, the organizers are once again partnering with the city to put together a program that is just as diverse, welcoming, and full of surprises.
“The best thing about Gluren bij de Buren is that you can literally discover something special just around the corner,” says producer Marcel Kamphuis. “Whether it’s an intimate performance in your own living room or at a neighbor’s house down the street, art and community come together here. That can only happen if as many people as possible sign up.”
On February 1, living rooms in all neighborhoods of Gouda will open their doors to the public and performers. On that day, living rooms will transform into stages where musicians, theater artists, dancers, poets, and other performing artists will perform three half-hour sets for an audience that is literally within arm’s reach. This intimacy creates a unique atmosphere, in which residents experience their neighborhood in a new way and artists get a chance to share their work or try something new.
Everyone can join in: whether you’re a seasoned performer or just looking to give your first performance, whether you have a spacious living room or a cozy sitting area. The organizers are hoping for sign-ups from all corners of the city, from Korte Akkeren to Westergouwe. The more homes and performers that sign up, the richer and more surprising the program will be.
