From October 1 through 31, 2026, STADSKANT, in collaboration with RAG, will organize the Queer Art Expo Gouda.
The exhibition, organized by the Gouda Rainbow Alliance, provides a platform for artists of all ages. Through photography, painting, and installations, the exhibition challenges visitors to engage in a conversation about sexuality, gender, and inclusivity.

The festive kickoff will take place on Sunday, October 4, at 1:00 p.m. at STADSKANT, located at Zeugstraat 36 in Gouda. None other than Gouda’s Alderman for Culture, Evert Bobeldijk (D66), will officially open the exhibition. Would you like to attend? Then register here before October 1!
From Students to Retirees
The Queer Art Expo brings together a highly diverse group of artists. Participants range from young students to retirees, and from enthusiastic hobbyists to seasoned professionals. Their work explores personal and social themes related to gender identity and sexual orientation. To discover the stories behind the artworks, a special catalog is available featuring detailed descriptions of all participating artists.
It’s especially important to be visible right now
The organization emphasizes that this exhibition is more relevant than ever. “Especially at a time when social tolerance sometimes seems to be waning, it is crucial to be visible,” says the Rainbow Alliance Gouda. “Inclusivity plays a central role. The exhibition is not just a place to view art, but rather a safe haven where we can engage in conversation with one another about art, culture, and our society.”
Festive Gathering: “Queer and Art: What Does That Mean toYou?”
On Wednesday, October 21, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., the Rainbow Alliance Gouda is hosting a particularly festive evening at STADSKANT. The event will center on the theme “Queer and Art: What Does That Mean to You?” During the evening, the founders and exhibitors will be interviewed in depth about their work and vision. The evening will feature live music to set the mood, and there will be poetry readings and storytelling.
Admission to both the exhibition and the festive evening is free. Everyone—regardless of background or identity—is warmly welcome to come and watch, listen, and talk.
