Poetry Tasting: “Words Capture Art”
During this poetry tasting event, “Words Capture Art,” we’ll go on a journey of discovery through UNIT4ART. We’ll explore works of art by various artists and across different disciplines: from photography and painting to sculpture, glass, video, and much more.
A work of art can evoke something for which you don’t immediately have the words—a feeling, a memory, a thought, or an association. That’s exactly where our journey of discovery begins. Guided by photographer and UNIT4ART founder Nicole Jansen, we look, feel, and write. We explore how an image can be transformed into words, rhythm, imagery, or poetry.
Look. Feel. Write.
And discover what happens when art finds its voice. You don't have to be a poet, and you don't need any writing experience. Curiosity is all it takes.

About Nicole Jansen
For Nicole, photography is about stripping reality of its noise. She always seeks out the layers within a person or an image.
For several years now, she has been pouring her heart and soul into portrait photography and creating atmospheric images for companies and productions. In her portraits, she strives to capture the character of the person standing before her lens. Companies often use her narrative photographs. In various productions, this results in images that are elevated to the status of art and are sold at her exhibitions.
Nicole is a co-founder of UNIT4ART.

About the Gouda School of Poetry
The Gouda School of Poetry was founded in 2020. What began as a basic course in poetry has grown into a diverse program featuring an Introductory Course, an Advanced Course, so-called “taster sessions” (poetry workshops), and a monthly poets’ workshop.
Since 2024, the school has been part of the Goudse Dichtersschool Foundation. The foundation is dedicated to fostering knowledge, skills, and engagement with poetry. Through its courses, activities, and collaborations, it gives poetry a prominent and unifying role within Gouda’s cultural landscape. Seegoudsedichtersschool.nl
