Summer Exhibition | State of the Art
The Exhibition State of the Art presents an annual overview of the latest work by visual artists from De Firma Kunstcentrum Gouda. Over the past year, more interesting work has been created. Some artists have continued along the path they developed in previous years, while others have broken new ground.
The exhibition has no set guidelines, such as a specific theme. Each artist showcases the work in which they specialize. The exhibition encompasses a wide range of disciplines and presents a diverse array of images, representations, and techniques, including paintings, prints, photography, ceramics, 3D objects, and installations.
State of the Art offers a dynamic and varied collection of artworks that reflect the versatility and craftsmanship within De Firma’s artist community.
On weekends, the artists are present on a rotating basis, providing an opportunity to meet them and exchange ideas.
De Firma is the premier venue for professional contemporary art in Gouda and the surrounding area, with approximately 100 affiliated artists. The art center, located next to Museum Gouda and St. John’s Church, is housed in a former stonemason’s workshop, a historic wooden building dating from around 1800. De Firma enables artists to exhibit their work, perform, and participate in activities and projects. It serves as a meeting place for artists and the public.
