Bernadette Pires, Amsterdam Latin Project, and more at Café Sessions during the Festival de Verwondering
During the Festival de Verwondering, on Friday evening, September 18, the city center will serve as the backdrop for an evening of live music during the Café Sessions. The cafés and restaurants around the Markt will be transformed into intimate venues where visitors can enjoy performances while dining or having a drink.
Look forward to the jazz fusion group Ħoss Project, The Hague-based jazz pianist, trumpeter, and singer Koen van der Linden, the rousing Dutch funk and pop band Case Candy, the Rotterdam-based Cape Verdean singer-songwriter Bernadette Pires, the talented singer-songwriter Kevin Bokomo from the Congo, spoken-word artist Nadine Rypkema, Marit Nygård and the Medemensen with cabaret and pop music, Amsterdam Latin Project bringing Latin rhythms, and Spull performing funk, soul, and Afro-jazz.
Visitors put together their own itinerary, creating their own intimate pub crawl featuring surprising performances. All concerts are free to attend. Between 7:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., the artists perform in rotating sets, allowing you to discover different acts at multiple venues. Each artist performs three times throughout the evening.
The Festival of Wonder invites visitors to let themselves be surprised, to wander through the city, and to discover new combinations of music and atmosphere time and again. The performances take place at various locations around the Markt, including Swing, Kaasbar, Barbier, De Waag, and Café Leef!.
