What can you expect? It’s not a big operation—Sanne and Dennis want to run things themselves so they can maintain a personal connection with their guests. Think of a cozy wine bar where you always end up staying a little longer for a second glass. “It won’t be too fancy, but rather nice and casual,” Sanne explains. “We also want to serve seasonal snacks—think fresh cheeses or a meat platter. Something we can make ourselves.”
They select the wines themselves from smaller winemakers. “We focus on European wines,” says Dennis. “We visit the winemakers in person and prefer wines that aren’t yet available in the Netherlands or in Gouda. You can also taste wines from Dutch winemakers here.” Sanne and Dennis want to have control over the entire process, they explain. “So that we know everything about the wine, from grape to glass, and the passion of the winemakers. It’s also more sustainable to stick with European wines.”
