Love4yourcloset
Love4yourcloset is a vintage and secondhand fashion shop, but also a creative meeting place for crochet and knitting enthusiasts, bookworms, and anyone looking for natural home and skin care products. "A place where you discover something different around every corner."
Love4yourcloset was founded by Marieska Visser. Together with her friend Annemieke Smit, she runs the second-hand clothing store and webshop. Starting out as a stall at the King's Day Fair, it quickly outgrew its space. An online store followed, but as demand for customers to feel and see the clothing continued to grow, the leap to a brick-and-mortar store was made, and Love4yourcloset opened its doors in Gouda, at Wilhelminastraat 52.
Find affordable gems
In the cozy, authentic building, there is plenty of opportunity to look, feel, and try things on. The store is not only full of affordable second-hand (brand) clothing for children, women, and men. There is also a diverse range of shoes, bags, hats, and jewelry. In addition to brands for the smaller budget, at Love4yourcloset you will also find those lovely gems from real designers. "It's a matter of luck, but every now and then we get some really fantastic designer items. We call them 'Closet Finds'. Special items at a great vintage price," says Marieska. She has been involved with second-hand clothing since her student days. She enjoys creating her own style, but also finds it fun to buy special brands at affordable prices. "After my children were born, keeping an eye on the budget became an essential part of my search for nice, affordable second-hand clothing. By collecting a lot, I already had a decent collection. Over time, this has expanded with many 'Closeteers' (fellow clothing collectors) who sell their items through Love4yourcloset." Together with her good friend and partner in crime Annemieke Smit, they work daily on updating the shop, processing the latest items, and keeping up with social media. And now they have a real store.
Creative meeting place in vintage style
In addition to selling vintage and secondhand fashion, the store on Wilhelminastraat is also a creative meeting place. For crochet and knitting enthusiasts, there is a crochet & knitting café open in the store on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. On those days, you can ask Annemieke any questions you may have about crocheting and knitting. They also designed their own crochet kits under the name 'Love4yarnart' - crochet and embroidery patterns of artwork on cushions. These kits are also available in the shop. For book lovers, there is a 'free' bookcase from which you can read, take, and exchange books. Artwork that can be admired and purchased hangs on the exhibition wall, and if you really love that one chair, you can also buy it for a great price. "We sell everything except the counter, because we're keeping that gem for ourselves."
In addition, we are also working hard on a creative range of courses. Soon, you will be able to take crochet and knitting courses in the evenings, but stylists, decluttering coaches, and art academy students will also be offering tips on how to develop your own clothing style, style an outfit, get your wardrobe ready for summer or winter, how to declutter, give away or throw away items, or transform a second-hand item into a fantastic, unique piece of clothing.
How do we work at Love4yourcloset?
Our motto is: "We do it together." That means that anyone can hand in their clothes to Love4yourcloset. We look at them and decide whether we can hang them in our closet and whether you can become a Closeteer.
