’t Klooster Cheese Farm
Farm ’t Klooster is a livestock farm with 45 dairy cows, 20 head of young cattle ranging in age from two weeks to two years, 160 fattening pigs, and 38 sheep and lambs.
Cheese-making began twenty-seven years ago. Butter and buttermilk are produced year-round. For the past three years, visitors have also been able to purchase farm-fresh ice cream at ’t Klooster. In addition, she organizes children’s parties for kids ages five to ten. The program includes (depending on the age): a scavenger hunt on the farm, watching the milking, watching a video about cheese-making, and of course, eating pancakes with ice cream afterward. Farm ’t Klooster is a great example of the variety and diversification of farm work. It’s definitely worth a visit.
