Since November 2018, our theater has been located on Gouderaksedijk in Gouda, in a former carpentry factory that has been completely converted into an attractive cultural meeting place.
Every week there is plenty to do: original concepts, music performances, comedy, (local) associations, and various other performing arts. Our slogan, "the stage for all of us," reflects our vision: to make theater and culture accessible to everyone in Gouda and the surrounding area.
De Theaterbakkerij operates without municipal subsidies, thanks to the enormous efforts of a large group of volunteers. Together with the permanent team and various independent professionals, they provide a varied program week after week. De Theaterbakkerij is also home to the West Coast Big Band, Stichting IPA, and TB Darts, among others.
Our theater has an intimate auditorium with a maximum capacity of 250 seats, equipped with retractable seating. There is also a cozy theater café and a terrace that is used during performances. The terrace is located on the GOUDasfalt site, where visitors can park for free.
In addition, we contribute to larger events in Gouda, such as the programming of Oranje Geluk Koningsnacht and Koningsdag on the Market Square and various activities organized by Gouds Geluk.
