We’re on a mission: to let you experience unique wines from small European and Dutch winemakers at a fair price. You’ll find our cozy wine bar and shop right on the Markt in charming Gouda. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a special glass of wine, local delicacies, or a bottle to take home in a relaxed atmosphere!
You can’t reserve a spot at the bar, so just stop by for a glass of wine or an impromptu wine tasting. Choose a theme and the format, and enjoy! Whether you’re a connoisseur or just here to have a good time, let our ever-changing menu take you on a journey. We also serve bites, such as cheese and charcuterie, oven-baked Camembert, and a variety of appetizers.
We’re Dennis and Sanne. With De Halszaeck, we’ve created our dream spot in Gouda: a warm, welcoming wine café and shop where you can pop in on a whim. We travel to the winemakers ourselves to bring the finest wines straight to Gouda. With no middlemen, so the price is fair for both the winemaker and you.
Come on over for a drink, a tasting, or pick out the perfect bottle to enjoy at home. In the Gouda area, we’ll even deliver right to your doorstep!
Throughout the year, we host special events at our venue. In addition to the regular pickup times for the "Hals over Wijn" packages, we organize winemaker takeovers, theme days, and tasting evenings.
Winemaker Takeover
During a Winemaker Takeover, representatives from the featured winery are present at De Halszaeck. On this day, the wine list consists entirely of wines from that winery. The winemaker will stop by your table to talk about the winery and the wines. It’s the perfect opportunity to learn more about your favorite winery and ask the winemaker questions! Reservations aren’t accepted, so arrive early, walk right in, and find a spot!
- Theme Day
During a theme day, we choose a specific wine theme. This can be anything from wine regions and wine varieties to dishes and holidays. On a theme day, the atmosphere at De Halszaeck reflects the theme. The wines and appetizers are selected to complement it. Stop by and immerse yourself in the theme! Reservations aren’t required for a theme day—just come visit us and enjoy the atmosphere!
