During the school break, activities are organized every day at De Goudse Hofsteden petting zoo. We’re also open on Mondays during the school break. Children can come every day to do arts and crafts: from coloring pictures to painting a piggy bank. No registration is required for these activities. For the other activities, you can register up to one day in advance. There’s no need to eat at home—you can also enjoy a meal at the farm, including freshly made sandwiches, pancakes, poffertjes, and much more!

On Monday, August 3, a pony and donkey morning will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Children will help take care of the ponies and donkeys, make a fun craft, and enjoy a cupcake! Ages 4 and up. Fee: €8.00, including lemonade. A maximum of 15 children can participate.

In the afternoon, children can make their own stick animals using paper, a wooden stick, and various materials such as paint, markers, glitter, ribbon, yarn, and much more. Fee: €6.95

On Tuesday, August 4, a pony and donkey morning will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Children will help take care of the ponies and donkeys, make a fun craft, and enjoy a cupcake! Ages 4 and up. Fee: €8.00, including lemonade. A maximum of 15 children can participate.

In the afternoon, children can create a sand painting between 2:00 and 3:30 p.m. Would you rather color or scratch? That’s also an option with a painting featuring velvet outlines or a scratch art drawing. Participation starts at €1.50.

Wednesday, August 5: Toddler Morning—for the very youngest children, the petting zoo is hosting an hour-long session (10:30–11:30 a.m.) of cuddling animals and “helping out.” Children (up to age 4) will join their mom, dad, grandpa, or grandma to cuddle small animals in the petting corner and help feed the animals, all under the supervision of an animal caretaker. Afterward, they’ll make a small, simple craft. The fee for this activity is €3.50. A maximum of 15 children can participate. One parent or guardian per child.

In the afternoon, children can paint, stamp, or color a small linen bag between 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Fee: €3.25; ages 4 and up.

Thursday, Aug. 6. In the morning, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., children can make crafts such as shelf decorations, piggy banks, horseshoes, and small paintings—there’s plenty to choose from. The fee depends on the choice.

In the afternoon, from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m., children can make a suncatcher; there are several designs to choose from. They’ll be colored in with special paint. Fee: €4.95. Ages 5 and up.

Friday, August 7. This afternoon, children can make "happy stones" between 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. They’ll draw a small picture on white stones with markers and color it in; the fee is €1.50.

Children can participate in the mosaic workshop in the afternoon between 2:00 and 3:30 p.m. They’ll use small tiles to decorate a wooden figure or tea light holder and then fill in the gaps with foam clay. Would you rather just work with foam clay? That’s an option, too. Children ages 4 and up can participate in this activity. The fee depends on the figure chosen.

The following applies to all activities:
Children under the age of six may participate under the supervision and with the assistance of a parent or guardian. Children should preferably be registered via the website. Space is limited for some activities.
