Have you heard of Anansi? This clever, cunning spider from West African and Caribbean tales proves time and again that if you’re not strong, you have to be smart. With his wit and humor, Anansi always outsmarts opponents who seem much stronger than he is, and that’s precisely why he became a true hero of the resistance during the era of slavery.
Children's book author Henna Goudzand Nahar reads from her award-winning book *Why Anansi Crossed the Ocean* and takes you on Anansi's exciting, funny adventures. Close your eyes and let your imagination run wild: how would you handle things if you were as clever as Anansi?
After that, we'll get to work in the Tech Workshop. You'll create your own Anansi Spider, with superpowers that you come up with yourself. Together, we'll make a big, colorful web of stories.
