Digging in a ditch—who doesn't love that?
In this Scharrelkids activity, children and their parents or grandparents will go on an exploration of their own. Together with IVN nature guides, we’ll investigate the state of aquatic life in the ditches near the Stadsakker on the outskirts of Goverwelle. How clear is the water, and what kinds of creatures will we find? An expert will help us identify all these little creatures.
Afterward, we’ll enter everything we found on the Waterdiertjes.nl website. For years, this site has been tracking the condition of ditches across the Netherlands. There’s plenty to learn about aquatic creatures on this site—for example, the aquatic creature of the year for 2026 is the Water Skater!
Please note: This time, there is no open drop-in session; instead, there will be a Scharrelkids activity for which you must register. Registration opens on May 1 via this link. There is room for up to 20 children.
