With a program ranging from iconic film scores from *Guardians of the Galaxy* and *Star Wars* to unique compositions such as *Music from Space*, Caecilia explores the full breadth of the universe. The audience is taken on a journey through musical interpretations of supernovas, the red planet Mars, the constellation Orion, and the turbulent power of a solar storm.
Caecilia invites everyone to come aboard and journey together to the far reaches of the universe.

The Caecilia City Wind Orchestra, founded in 1908, is Gouda’s oldest wind orchestra and a fixture in the city’s musical scene. Under the direction of an enthusiastic, professional conductor, Caecilia performs various concerts each year in and around Gouda. What truly sets Caecilia apart is the way the orchestra frequently forges connections with other art forms. Examples include poems set to music specifically for the orchestra, collaborations with theater groups, musical fairy tales featuring storytellers, and performances with klezmer or jazz bands. In recent years, these surprising combinations have resulted in impressive and memorable concerts.
Caecilia is known for its versatility, which is clearly evident in its broad and varied repertoire. The orchestra performs music across a wide range of genres, from pop and jazz to musical theater and film scores. Works by contemporary composers are also performed regularly, while classics and celebratory tunes are certainly not overlooked.
Our efforts are focused on performing at various events. Throughout the year, we give concerts and participate in events and festivals. Unlike a marching band, we prefer concert formations, because that’s where our music really shines.
