This Saturday, everyone is invited to join a special themed walking tour organized by the Gouda Guides Guild. This time, instead of picturesque streets or charming Old Dutch facades, the tour will focus on buildings you might otherwise walk right past. The guide will take you on a journey through Gouda’s transition from craftsmanship to industry. During this approximately one-and-a-half-hour walk this afternoon, you’ll pass by the highlights of Gouda’s industrial history. And that history is definitely worth telling!

Over the centuries, Gouda has been home to several large, important factories, and their remnants are still visible today. Join us on a walk to discover how the Industrial Revolution shaped the city and let yourself be transported back to the days of sooty chimneys and noisy steam engines.
