This architectural walking tour through the center of Gouda introduces you to the various architectural styles that have been used over the centuries. In the heart of the city, you’ll find buildings representing nearly every major stylistic period since the Gothic era. You’ll not only learn about these architectural styles but also about various construction techniques.
Do you know what “building on the fly” means, or how the foundation was laid and what materials were used? Are you familiar with the concept of cantilevering? These are all topics that will be covered on this walk.
