On Sunday, July 19, artist Marry Buiks will take visitors on a journey through the creation of several art objects he made in collaboration with photographer Ap Quist at his studio in the Unit4Art gallery in Gouda. What began as an experiment—adding glass to photographs of fruits and vegetables—has resulted in a series of works that demonstrate how the character and emotion of the image are enhanced by boldly combining two artistic disciplines: photography and glass fusion.
In addition to photography and glass, their latest artwork, “Moped from the Oude Rijn,” also incorporates a piece of rust recovered from the Oude Rijn—part of a moped destined for the scrap heap—into the piece.
