The Gouda Leeft music festival will return in 2026 with a revamped format and a clear focus on talent development.

For its fifth edition, taking place on Saturday, June 27, 2026, the festival is launching an open call and a structured talent development program for local and regional artists. Artists can now apply for the open call at: https://forms.gle/PjyVbTsPBgqKZ44K6.

With this step, Gouda Leeft continues to build a strong talent pipeline within the city. What began as an accessible stage in unique locations is evolving into a development platform where artists not only perform but also receive substantive guidance. This year, for the first time, the program consists of an open call with preparatory masterclasses, substantive mentoring with coaches, and the selection of one or two “Gouda Leeft Standouts.” These standouts will move on to larger stages during Gouda Pop Week and other events in the region. Additionally, participating artists will receive professional performance videos to boost their visibility and future career opportunities.

With these new components, Gouda Leeft is firmly positioning itself as a springboard for Gouda’s talent. The festival aims not only to provide a stage but also to actively contribute to the sustainable growth of creators from the city and surrounding area. From a first performance at a neighborhood venue to a signature spot within Popweek: Gouda Leeft wants to be the place where talent is spotted, developed, and launched.

Gouda Leeft was founded in 2021 by Stichting Culturele Verrassingen and has grown into a fixture within the cultural landscape, with previous editions also held in Rotterdam and The Hague. Gouda Leeft 2026 is made possible by GoudApot, Popunie, and Genootschap Graaf Floris de Vijfde.
