On Saturday, April 18, the city, in collaboration with various emergency services and other organizations, is hosting 112 Day at GOUDasfalt. During this event, emergency services will put on spectacular demonstrations and show how they respond to emergencies. Visitors—young and old alike—will get a unique behind-the-scenes look and learn about the organizations that work every day to keep us safe

The fire department, police, ambulance service, rescue brigade, Department of Defense, Public Safety and Enforcement, the Red Cross, and the animal ambulance service are offering an educational and interactive program. They will be conducting several demonstrations for both children and adults. Visitors will learn what to do during a disaster or accident and how emergency services respond. They will also have the opportunity to take a close look at the various vehicles and watercraft. Security and Surveillance students from Hoornbeeck College will be on hand all day to gain practical experience.

Information Fair
In addition to demonstrations and safety information, there will also be an information fair. Visitors can ask emergency services personnel any questions they may have. They will learn what it’s like to work for an emergency service and discover opportunities to volunteer. Special attention will also be given to cybercrime prevention, fire safety, and resilience.

The 112 Day will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the GOUDasfalt site, Gouderaksedijk 32.
