First Edition of the Gouda Youth Musical Chairs Championship on King's Day at the Market Square
Gouda – On Saturday, April 26, Gouds Geluk is organizing the King’s Day event “Oranje Geluk” for the second time. The Market Square in Gouda will once again be the bustling center of a festive program for young and old. New this year: the Gouds Youth Championship Musical Chairs. Children up to age 12 can participate and will receive a medal and a treat afterward.
The Gouds Youth Musical Chairs Championship is a new addition to the King’s Day program and is made possible in part by enthusiastic sponsors and GoudApot. “It’s going to be a super fun event with no losers, but with a competitive element,” says Demi Bakker of Gouds Geluk. “All participating children will receive a medal and a treat. And after that, there’s still plenty to do on the Markt!”
The event begins at 10:00 a.m., when the young participants can pick up their participation wristbands at the Market Square. Then, at 10:30 a.m., they can join the traditional morning concert, where the mayor will officially open the event. At 11:00 a.m., the Chair Dance begins, accompanied by music from Superfuif. Afterward, all participants will receive a medal and a treat on stage. Starting at 1:00 p.m., the musical program kicks off, featuring performances by Golden Earring Undercover, Party Pulse, and ABBA Dance, among others.
In addition to the Musical Chairs, there’s plenty of entertainment on the Market Square. Scouting groups are organizing sports and games, food trucks are serving delicious food, and the party terrace with its well-stocked bars creates a lively atmosphere.
Gouds Geluk hopes to welcome a large crowd once again and let even more residents of Gouda enjoy this festive day. Admission to the event is free. Participation in the musical chairs costs €5 per child. You can register at www.oranje-geluk.nl
