The Goudse Schouwburg presents a podcast, exhibition, performance, and dance salons centered around "Gouden Dans"
This winter, the Gouden Dans dance project will present a spectacular edition at the Goudse Schouwburg. With a record number of 80 participating seniors, the project offers a unique social and creative experience led by professional choreographers. The result will be on display during the festive performance on January 19 at the theater.
The performance consists of two dance pieces. "Water" is performed by a group that already dazzled audiences in 2022 with "Kom dans met mij de danzón" at the theater. Choreographer Mirjam Visser has created the new piece "Circles," inspired by Michel Legrand’s iconic "Windmills of Your Mind." The theme of "Circles" is expressed in an organic and abstract manner.
In the run-up to the performance, four podcasts will be released on December 17 and 24 and January 7 and 14. In these episodes, participants and mentors discuss the creative process. The podcasts offer a fascinating glimpse for theater and cultural organizations, healthcare and welfare institutions, and policymakers throughout the Netherlands. In addition, this year Gouden Dans has been expanded to include costume and photography workshops. The results of the photography workshops will be on display during an exhibition at the Nelson Mandela Center. The festive opening will take place on Tuesday, January 14, at 3:00 p.m., with light refreshments.
The festivities continue even after the performance, with three dance salons on February 17, March 17, and April 14. These events are all about enjoying dance, music, and good company together. The dance salons are organized in collaboration with the Goudse Schouwburg and Kwadraad Social Work. Everyone is welcome to join in and meet new people.
