Gouda Museum Harbor
The 20 skippers of Museumhaven Gouda keep Gouda's grand history as a port city alive. They watch over the cultural heritage and tell the story of the Museumhaven. The ships in the harbor are inhabited by skippers who continuously restore and maintain their historic vessels using traditional methods as much as possible. This means that the ships can still sail. Visitors with a historic ship can obtain a temporary berth in the harbor.
Discover, experience, and be surprised!
You can explore the Museum Harbor by following various walking routes on Explore Gouda. You can listen to skippers' stories about sailing heritage, and information boards give you a glimpse into history. You can walk from the market square to the Museum Harbor and the adjacent IJsselhuis restaurant (check opening hours in advance). It is a place full of history, nostalgia, and conviviality, where you can relax and unwind. There is also a special treasure hunt for children.
