Every year, the event draws a lively crowd of hundreds of visitors, drawn by the friendly atmosphere, the sale of new and used items, handmade crafts, and delicious treats. Everyone is welcome on Monday, June 6, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Did you know that the IJsselmarkt started out as a “joke” back in 2002? Two neighbors came up with a fun idea at a wedding party to clear out their attics. That’s how the IJsselmarkt began as a small flea market with fifty stalls. Since then, the IJsselmarkt has grown into a major event with 150 stalls.
The IJsselmarkt and the Josephmarkt haven’t forgotten about the kids either. Every year, various children’s activities are a hit, with the annual carousel being the highlight. So come on down to IJssellaan on Whit Monday for the IJsselmarkt and to Sint Josephstraat for the Josephmarkt, and see for yourself!
