Plenty of activities at the Goudse Hofsteden petting zoo during the Christmas holidays
During the holidays, activities are organized every day at De Goudse Hofsteden petting zoo. The petting zoo is closedon Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Every day, children can come and do crafts in the restaurant: from coloring a picture to painting different piggy banks. No registration is required. There is also a Christmas bauble treasure hunt during the holidays. You can also eat at the farm, including fresh sandwiches, delicious pancakes, poffertjes (mini pancakes), and of course delicious pea soup!
Monday, December 22,
Today, some special animals are coming to visit: owls and birds of prey! From 10:15–11:15 a.m. or 11:15 a.m.–12:15 p.m., you can learn all about these special animals under the guidance of an animal caretaker from Uil Topia. There is a maximum number of participants. This is a parent-child activity. As a parent, you also pay for participation. Participation: €4.95 per person.
In the afternoon, between 1:30 and 3:00 p.m., children can make a window hanger in a winter/Christmas theme, choosing from a selection of different images. They are colored in with special paint/markers. Contribution €4.95. Ages 5 and up (4 and up with markers).
Tuesday, Dec. 23: Donkey and Pony Morning at
The Donkey and Pony Morning takes place from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Children will help care for the ponies and donkeys, make a fun craft, and enjoy a cupcake! Ages 4 and up.
In the afternoon, children can make a sand painting between 1:30 and 3:00 p.m. Prefer coloring? That's also possible with a painting with velvet contours, and there are also various paintings that can be made with scratch art.
Wednesday, Dec. 24: Toddler and Preschooler Morning at the
For the littlest ones, the petting zoo is hosting an hour-long session (10:30–11:30 a.m.) of cuddling animals and “helping out.” The children (up to age 4) will join mom, dad, grandpa, or grandma to cuddle small animals in the petting corner and help feed the animals, all under the supervision of an animal caretaker. Afterward, they’ll make a small, simple craft.
In the afternoon, there will be a workshop on making lanterns between 1:30 and 3:00 p.m. Children can make lanterns with a winter theme using jars and various materials.
Thursday, December 25, ChristmasDay, the petting zoo will be closed. Friday, December 26, the petting zoo will be open.
Friday, December 26, lots of fun on Boxing Day at the petting zoo
The nativity scene can be admired from 11:00 a.m. onwards, featuring wooden dolls depicting the Christmas story. Of course, the Christmas donkey, sheep, and other animals are also present in this stable.
A Christmas bauble treasure hunt has been set up in the yard and a number of games are ready to play.
We also cater to your inner self in our cozy restaurant 'De Deel', where delicious mulled wine and hot chocolate with whipped cream are available, accompanied by a tasty treat, of course. Children can also participate in fun Christmas or winter craft activities.
The petting zoo is open from 10:00 a.m. The nativity scene can be admired every day during the holidays.
Monday, December 29: Winter Circuit at the “

With a punch card, children can visit various winter-themed stations between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to build a fun snowman, play different games, decorate a gingerbread man, make a bird-shaped cupcake, and then put on their coats and head outside for a scavenger hunt.
Tuesday, December 30 In the morning, a number of special animals from Exotus Serpenti will be visiting. From 10:00 to 11:00 or from 11:00 to 12:00, you can learn all about various special animals under the guidance of one of their animal caretakers. There is a maximum number of participants. This activity is for children and parents. As a parent, you also pay for participation.
Afternoon mosaic or foam clay workshop, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., a fun workshop where participants work with mosaic tiles and different surfaces. Foam clay is used for grouting. Children can also choose to work with foam clay only.
Decorate various figures/animals made from different materials of your choice.

Saturday, January 3 Making bird feeders for outdoor birds between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Today, children can make a bird feeder for wild birds in their own garden. Using a terracotta pot, an apple, homemade fat balls, and peanuts, children will make a little figure. The figure can then be hung up in the garden or on the balcony. Fun for the children and the birds!
