Comics on the Market is the most fun annual comic book festival in Gouda and the surrounding region! It takes place every first Sunday in May in the historic heart of Gouda, in and around the centuries-old town hall. For over 15 years, the festival has been free and open to everyone—from avid collectors and comic book enthusiasts to casual shoppers.
What’s there to see and do?
Stop by the comic book fair, featuring dozens of booths, and complete your collection. You’ll find every genre there: from European comics and graphic novelsto manga and American comics. New and used.
Meet your favorite artist and have them draw a beautiful illustration in your album. Every year, special convention editions are available for purchase, and you can bid on rare and sought-after items at the comic book auction. Of course, a new version of the Gouds Stripbier is also available each year, featuring a unique label designed by the event’s special guest.
Who is organizing the event?
Strips op de Markt is organized every year by a team of enthusiastic volunteers. The organizing team consists of: Peter Boersma, Mathieu Dekker, Rob den Houter, Christien Luk, and Marco Luk. During the event, dozens of volunteers pitch in to make it a huge success!
