Spring Fair at the Petting Zoo
Today is all about spring! 🌸 Come on by and explore nature together. In addition to the children’s program, there are all kinds of fun activities throughout the day that you’re welcome to watch or join in on.
🐝 Visit the bee garden and listen to stories from our beekeeper. Take a peek inside a real beehive and test your knowledge with the bee quiz.
🐸 Go on a discovery tour with the tadpoles and learn how they develop into frogs.
🐦 Do you think you’re as handy as a bird? Then try building a nest on a branch yourself!
🦋 During the scavenger hunt, you’ll learn all about the growth of butterflies and other animals in nature.
🎨 For the creative types, there’s a workshop to decorate a flower pot with a pretty flower, and various games are available.
🔨 You can also build a little house for a great tit.
📚 Between 11:00 AM and 12:30 PM, the Book Bike will also stop by to read aloud.
There are also various charming stalls featuring (summer) blooms, crafts such as crochet and embroidery, flower magnets, and other handmade products.
🕯️ You’ll also find handmade beeswax candles.
🍰 La Chantilly Home Bakery will be bringing brownies, cupcakes, jams, and other local products.
👕 De Boer’nboetiek will be there with printed shirts featuring farm-themed texts and can print shirts on-site with names and images.
🍟 For a tasty snack, head to De Deel.
👧🐐 There’s a special children’s program (please sign up in advance). During this program, we’ll visit the newborn kids and lambs. You can see them frolicking in the barn and in the pasture.
🐰 In the petting corner, you’ll meet small animals like rabbits and guinea pigs. Of course, that calls for a little treat: a rusk with aniseed sprinkles and a glass of lemonade, or for adults, a cup of tea or coffee. ☕🥤
🌱 In addition, the children will make “happy bee balls.” These are little balls filled with seeds. Place them on a bare patch of ground, and flowers will grow from the seeds—flowers that are good for bees and other insects.
🎟️ Children can visit various stations with their parents, grandparents, or guardians using a punch card. Fixed times apply for the baby visit and the meeting corner; for the other activities, you can simply join in.
This is a parent-child activity. Participation costs €4.75 for children and €3.75 for adults. Payment can be made upon registration on the day of the event. For participation in the children’s program, we ask that you register in advance, as space with the animals is limited.
🔎 The scavenger hunt is included in the children’s program, but can also be done separately. The same applies to decorating flower pots and making happy bee balls. 🌼🐝
You can sign up for this activity via the reservation system. Please note that you will be redirected to another page.

Vendors We still have space for a few more vendors to set up stalls and make this day even more fun.
Are you a creator, artisan, or seller of unique, sustainable, or handmade items? Or can you lead a fun workshop—such as creating a spring arrangement using various materials? If so, please send an email describing what you do to: Sandra@kinderboerderijgouda.nl
