St. John's in a fairytale-like atmosphere
Normally, the Gouda Stained Glass Windows are best viewed during the day from inside the church. At the end of the year, however, you can also admire them from the outside after dark! In the evenings (4:00 PM to 9:00 PM), the windows are illuminated from within, creating a magical effect. During church services or concerts, the Gouda Glasses are not (or only partially) illuminated. In the city center, the Gouda Glasses can be found everywhere, on lampshades specially crafted for this event. The lamps can be admired on streetlights and in the windows of various shops. This creates a unique and historic experience in the area around St. John’s Church.
