On Saturday, November 8, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the City of Gouda is once again hosting a sustainability fair at St. John’s Church. Come and be inspired by all the ways you can make your life more sustainable.

At 60 booths, you can find information on: saving energy, going green, using sustainable products, recycled items, protecting your home and garden from climate change, and various types of free workshops. Admission is free.

What would you like to know?
At the sustainability fair, you’ll find answers to countless questions: How can you save on your energy bill? What can you do in your garden to adapt to climate change? How do you install a green roof? Is a rain barrel a good idea? What are eco-materials? Which materials can you repurpose to create a new product? Energy coaches, garden ambassadors, residents, and many organizations are happy to help you.

Vintage clothing, secondhand items, and great food

There are also several stalls where you can buy things like vintage clothing, secondhand items, and lots of upcycled materials. You can see how products are given a new lease on life, making for sustainable holiday gifts.

Want to get involved? Join Buurtgroen, the Garden Ambassadors, Energy Volunteers, Stadsakker, or other initiatives.

And of course, you can enjoy delicious vegetarian or vegan sandwiches, pastries, and drinks. Bring your own mug—it’s totally eco-friendly!

Fun workshops, including ones for kids

There are fun workshops for children (and adults). For example, make a keychain out of an old bicycle tire. Make lanterns, decorate a hedgehog gate, or create leaves for the walking trees.
