On Thursday, May 14, Ascension Day, the Sluiswachtersgilde in Gouda is hosting a unique demonstration of the Donkere Sluis. Between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m., you can watch the lock gates being operated twice and learn more about the rich history and operation of this historic lock.
The lock keepers are ready to take you on a journey through the history of the Donkere Sluis, an important piece of heritage in the heart of Gouda.
