Dace Satre Sietina concludes the "Preek van de Leek" series X Museum Gouda
The final “Lay Sermon” of the season will take place on Sunday, May 17. Dace Satre Sietina will conclude the series with a reflection on growing up under the Soviet regime, when faith was forbidden and punishable by law. Dace is an artist who collected stories and objects from 31 residents of Gouda for the exhibition “Faith” at Museum Gouda. With the participation of the Latvian choir LVkorisNL.
The Lay Sermon begins at 4:00 p.m. in the Sint-Joost Chapel (Lage Gouwe 134) and lasts about an hour. It will be followed by a reception. Just like a regular church service, admission is free and no reservation is required. Previously, museum director Femke Haijtema and human rights lawyer Naema Tahir delivered lay sermons.

The GoudaLay Sermon is an initiative of the Gouda Federation, a liberal faith community that finds its inspiration where Christianity, compassion, and culture intersect. Approximately 20 lay preachers with ties to the city of Gouda have spoken in the past.
