Gouda Candles: craftsmanship that continues to burn
In 1853, three gentlemen from Gouda founded the 'Stearine Kaarsenfabriek' (Stearin Candle Factory). This quickly proved to be a success and on February 24, 1858, the N.V. (public limited company) was established. In 1899, the company was awarded the designation 'Royal'. The factory is the founder of the genuine, original Gouda Candles.
