During the festive “Langste ZaterWaterdag,” dozens of illuminated boats sail in a line through the canals of Gouda and the surrounding lake area.

The evening cruise begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Reeuwijks Verlaat lock. The return trip departs at 8:30 p.m. from the Kleiweg Bridge.

Participation is free, and registration is not required.

The Longest Saturday Water Day is a collaboration between the municipality of Gouda, the local water sports club SWRP, and the Gouda Lock Keepers’ Guild.
Due to construction work on the Karnemelksloot, this year’s event will not take place on the longest day of the year. As a result, the program will start later, and the evening return trip has also been moved up.

Prior to the Longest Saturday Water Day, the annual Boat Passage Day takes place during the day. From 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., boats, rowboats, and canoes can sail back and forth between Gouda and the Reeuwijkse Plassen as often as they like.
