An invitation to slow down.
In the hustle and bustle of modern life, we often forget to pause. We forget to feel, to look, to listen—not only to the world around us, but also to the nature within ourselves. Fanal Forest in Portugal, one of Europe’s last ancient laurel forests, is one of those rare places where time seems to stand still for a moment as you walk through it. A place where the mist hangs over the landscape like a soft blanket, where the trees whisper in the wind, and where every lichen, every fern, every knot in the trunk tells a story.

Stillness, an oasis of peace where the hustle and bustle of the world is momentarily set aside. As you pass by, it invites you to slow down, to breathe, to simply be. It is an invitation to discover the small, unassuming beauties that you often overlook.

Jan Mostertis a sculptor who works primarily with wood. His background lies primarily in the crafts: he trained as a carpenter, furniture maker, yacht builder, and arts and crafts instructor at the Academy of Visual Arts in Amersfoort. To this day, this foundation remains a cornerstone of his work.

Astrid den Haanis a self-taught, all-around photographer. She has been working as the official photographer for the city of Gouda for ten years. In addition to this work, she creates independent projects that span street, documentary, and macro photography.

There is an extensive program of activities surrounding the exhibition on Friday evening and over the weekend.
