Organ and Violin Concert

On May 30, 2026 (starting at 8:00 p.m.), a special organ concert will take place at the Reformed Church in Gouda (Nieuwe Gouwe Oostzijde 2b), featuring Gerrit Christiaan de Gier (organ) and Martha Brouwer (violin). 

The program features several masterpieces from the organ repertoire, including Bach’s impressive Toccata, Adagio, and Fugue in C (BWV 564). In Liszt’s monumental Prelude and Fugue on B-A-C-H, virtuosity and depth come together. Rheinberger’s beautiful Adagio and Fugue was written specifically for organ and violin. The program concludes with an improvisation on Psalm 102, followed by a sing-along. The program will be explained at the start. Free coffee and tea will be served afterward.

Admission is free. The proceeds from tonight’s collection (after expenses) will go toward the restoration of the historic Van den Brink organ at “De Lichtwijzer” on Hoge Gouwe, the church where Gerrit Chr. de Gier has been teaching organ lessons for many years.
